Paul J. Loheide, M.D.

Dr. Loheide graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Biology and the Biology Award from the University of Louisville. He then earned his M.D. from the University of Louisville in 1998, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated Cum Laude. His residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the University of Louisville in 2001, where he earned numerous awards including “Most Outstanding Senior Resident.”

Dr. Loheide is board certified in Internal Medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been in private practice with Norton Community Medical Associates since 2001 where he practiced with Dr. Varga and Dr. Wheeler through 2003. There he sharpened his expertise in preventative medicine, fitness, diabetes, hypertension, and lipid disorders. He also remained active in an education role by hosting medical students and residents in his office to help nurture an interest in private practice Internal Medicine.

In addition to a busy private practice, Dr. Loheide serves as Chairman of the Medical Review Committee for Norton Suburban Hospital. He remains a member of the Kentucky Medical Association, American Medical Association and Jefferson County Medical Society. His peers have voted him one of Louisville’s Top Internal Medicine Docs. He is a frequent lecturer on lipids, hypertension, and diabetes.

Besides his interest in Internal Medicine, Dr. Loheide believes in practicing what he preaches with a keen interest in preventative medicine and running for fitness. He regularly competes in marathons, half-marathons, and 10-kilometer road races collecting several awards along the way. Dr. Loheide has twins, PJ and Sarah, age 8. Other interests include playing basketball, waterskiing, and traveling with his family.
